About
The Internet is an exciting new medium for journalists and media organisations. By making use of the communication possibilities offered by the Internet, journalists can, for the first time, really establish contact with their audience.
This ICT4D South Asia blog has been created to bring together ICT journalists from South Asia and to act as a common platform where they could share their story behind the IT story.
Its a great idea and I highly appreciate this flatform for journalists.
Hope all the South Asian Journalists will maximize the usage of this opportunity.

ICT is ging to be a Major mean to reduce poverty in poor and developing cuntries. Business Process Outsurcing (BPO) going to play a major roll in it. Already we have given more than 1,000 employment opprtunities thrugh internet to poor, rural youth in Sri Lanka by introducing BPO to them. This is highly cost effective method as we have experienced already. If you need more infrmation please contact us.

My compliments for this effort that highlights ICT related issues and stories in South Asia. I am a part of a team which has created http://www.raftaar.com a Hindi search engine. We realize that there are different issues that hinder the adoption of ICT in India and through our effort we are addressing some of these.
http://www.Raftaar.com is the first universal search engine in Hindi which ensures that internet users can search the net in Hindi using Devnaagri script. Here the user can type in Hindi and search the net. Also understanding the problem of Fonts, raftaar converts all results into Unicode so that the users experience can be hassle free. We will be happy to receive feedback on our effort http://www.raftaar.com.
